Watched Scream on Star Movies and it felt like I was the last one to get all the jokes in the movie-spoofs that followed. The scary movie character freak is so campy. His lines are campy. I had to make a conscious effort to remind myself that this is not one of the spoofs and that it is the movie itself which those movie-spoofs are based on. I think this is the exact situation of Robert Downey Jr.’s character in Tropic Thunder is in. Watching Scream again after 13 – 14 years ago (that is way long ago, shite) gave me that “I am the dude playing the dude disguised as another dude” feeling. Speaking of spoofs, here’s one that I’m looking forward to…

But He Bended More Water Than Air

While watching Airbender, all I can think of is what a big fucking giant asshole of M. Night Shyamalan for doing this to us. If he was a boyfriend or a girlfriend, he’s one of those whom you’ve realized is a real dick or bitch after all. If you’ve seen Airbender, consider yourself warned of M. Night. From now on, I’m not going to watch any of his movies with blind faith that it would be awesome no matter what. It could be that his last 2 films before this one where big honking signals and I chose to ignore it that’s why I feel so betrayed. Airbender was completely left field and highly inappropriate and it’s best to just chuck it to experience. Then I saw Inception. M. Night, check out Nolan. He’s getting away with a lot of things and I am more than willing to lead the way for him to get away with a whole lot more.

Airbender can’t be mentioned with Inception in the same sentence. See what I just did? Yes something like that M. Night.

Lani Mercado as the Blessed Virgin Mary Statue

A bunch of people rushed to my side as I watched my car go down the flooded street. A guy popped out a very long telescope with a large lens and peered into the water to see where my car went into. As he pushed deep down, the tip reached somewhere that seems to be not flooded. He turned the telescope and we all saw a regular-sized statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Blessed Virgin Mary’s face was of Lani Mercado’s. The 5 of us stared at it enough to see the eyes turn and stare back at us. We screamed in horror and right at that moment, we knew we’re going to die. The rest of the people around us didn’t see what Lani Mercado the Blessed Virgin Mary just did. They didn’t believe us so naturally, we freaked out and scrambled to different locations. The next thing I know, I turned into a fly buzzing around a yellow spiral staircase. Suddenly, Lani Mercado the Blessed Virgin Mary statue showed up from nowhere. I don’t know what she was up to but for sure, she’s out to get me. I flew and flew in the spiral staircase but the now giant Lani Mercado the Blessed Virgin Mary just kept on inching in further. She is this stoic figure that keeps on bobbing up and down scaring the crap out of me. I thought of how flies feel when human beings are trying to swat them.

By this time, I know that I was in a dream so I thought of just not dealing with it. Like yeah whatever Lani Mercado the Blessed Virgin Mary statue. Just go bob somewhere else. My left hand is pinned down under my head when I woke up.

I Know Where the MRT Cards Are

This is long overdue. 2 months ago, I was complaining about the unavailability of the MRT stored value cards. It’s frustrating to see in the stations the poorly-made sign boards (more like used papers) that says “Stored value cards temporarily unavailable.” A couple of weeks of MRT cards scarcity, B was lucky enough to buy a few cards when it finally became available and by few, I meant 10:

Yes, we hoarded MRT cards because there is a need to. One station didn’t allow us to buy more than 2 because according to them, the cards should be available to the others. The other station let us buy at least 5. Go figure.

Easy A and The Adjustment Bureau

Can’t wait to see ‘Easy A’ solely because it stars Emma Stone. Emma Stone was also in Zombieland which sealed the deal for her being awesome. She is the love child of Aubrey Plaza — that girl in ‘Parks and Recreation’, a show that should be around for a lot of seasons, and Lindsay Lohan, that is before she got all crazy and wasted.

Matt Damon and Emily Blunt in The Adjustment Bureau. ’nuff said. Anything that Damon does will always be better so I don’t care if it seems like a movie that has already been done before. Also, this film is based on a short story by Philip K. Dick, the person responsible for ‘Blade Runner’, ‘Total Recall’, ‘Minority Report’ and ‘A Scanner Darkly’.

LBC recycles paper and you should too

LBC (at least the branch where I pay bills) is making an effort to cut down on the amount of paper they use by recycling the glossy paper thinggies that is separated from the stickers that they put on packages. What they do is print out the receipt of the bills paid at the back of those glossy paper thinggies instead of using a clean or unused blank piece of paper. Nice.

The PCOS machines did withstand the jello heat. Woo. But my bet lost so. Thanks to the appointed Son of God. Whatever. Just saw the report of GMA 7′s SAKSI of the actors and actresses that have been recently voted in Congress. B said that there will come a time when there will be no showbiz segments in the news shows anymore because these actors and actresses are already in the headlines. Top news and showbiz news rolled into one. Imagine this headline:

Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista dons Captain Barbell costume to inaugurate the new City Hall and promote his new movie.

Possible, yes? No?

Just to name a few. Some lost, some are in Congress, some are Councilors. It seems like being in show business is a prerequisite to be a lawmaker. We should be prepared for Ramon “Bong” Revilla. He always tops the Senatorial seat every election. Who are you to think that he won’t be aiming for the presidency soon?

B said that the heat is like a jello-entity and we’re passing through it. Word. Can’t describe our weather for the past few months any better than she did. She has to take the MRT and LRT to and from ~~hell~~ work everyday so she gets to feel what it’s really like out there walking under the angry sun of a witch. She also believes that the small amount of rain that we had in the afternoon 2 days ago was just clouds dumping absorbed human sweat. Eew.

I am so excited to vote on Monday. I can’t wait to feed that long piece of paper in a PCOS machine. The COMELEC said that the election on May 10 will happen and I believe it. I want to stay positive about this but I thought that it was premature of them to toast champagne after the last ballot was printed out. Too early a celebration guys. Some CompactFlash (CF) cards are nowhere near to the far-flung PCOS machines and they won’t make it on election day. What are the voters in those remote areas supposed to do now? Hold voting off until the CF cards finally arrive? I see a potential problem too. Our public schools don’t have air-conditioning. In this jello heat we are experiencing this summer, will the PCOS machines survive it? I really really hope so.
