YouTube Feather Offers Lightweight Video Viewing
Y
ouTube is offering “Feather” Beta for a much more lighter video loading as much as possible. This is a good thing for those who like watching stuff over at YouTube. I have tried it and so far, the only thing that I’ve noticed is that the site loads without all the fuss around the page. It looks “cleaner” but the video loading itself is kinda the same as the non-Feather version. It could be just my laptop so I will have to try it on another computer to see if the videos does load more quickly. The YouTube “Feather” Beta opt-in page says that:
To try it, just click ‘Join the “Feather” Beta’ below YouTube’s opt in page. You can easily switch back to the non-Feather version by clicking ‘Leave the “Feather” Beta’.
As what the opt-in page says, YouTube “Feather” Beta is a work in progress so expect things to be not working as expected and try to leave comments so it can be improved.
