Vote Efren Penaflorida for CNN Hero of the Year

Efren Penaforida is one of the founders of Dynamic Teen Company (DTC). DTC offers education to children living on the streets with the use of a pushcart (kariton).

Efren Penaflorida was born into a poor family but it did not stop him from pursuing education. In high school, he felt social discrimination and was afraid to walk down the streets because of gang members. A confrontation with a gang leader forcing him to join his gang turned out to be fateful. He stood up to the gang leader and that gave him the idea of diverting teenagers to be productive through education, thus the creation of the DTC.
